Petition To Protect Nature Preserve From Golf Course Clear-Cutting
[Updated, 10:30 a.m.] There are four simple things you can do to help the Friends of the Black River Forest near Sheboygan, and like-minded Wisconsinites elsewhere, dissuade the Kohler Company from flattening, filling and otherwise converting 247-acres of woods and wetlands just beyond pristine Lake Michigan dunes to construct yet another high-end golf course.

* Tell your state legislators (here's how to find their contact information) to direct the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to deny the company the permission it is seeking to build a road and maintenance facility within the Kohler Andrae State Park that abuts the proposed golf course site.
And remind your legislators to make the environment, a clean Lake Michigan and an unspoiled Kohler Andrae State Park their top priorities in this matter.
* Attend a public hearing in the Town of Wilson Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. on July 16th and support local residents who seek to hold Town officials to the preservation goals of the Town's adopted land use and development plan.
* Urge environmental organizations which you support to get involved. State park land and Lake Michigan belong to the public.
