Walker sells Bucks deal with underwhelming optics

There was a time when Walker waxed enthusiastically about the Bucks, and the city, and how he and the kids loved going to games.

But this zero-affect, Mission Accomplished-style banner at Walker's arena deal announcement summoned up none of that.

Seriously?
That's not a fake news picture from the Onion?

Wow. It's not. Unbelievable.

My husband and I were talking about just how classless and culture-less is Scott Walker. This is yet another demonstration. "Cheap" is just one of the words to describe Mr. Walker, none of them flattering. If I were the one of the owners, players, or any other part of the Bucks organisation, I would be really ticked off at this slogan, finding it an insult to the team's importance to Milwaukee.

It is no wonder no Bucks officials were present. I thought the same thing what a terrible endorsement for the Bucks, the entire project, and the city of Milwaukee. His theory that it would be cheaper to keep the Bucks rather than let them go could be applied to most of his budget cuts. The fact that the U W system generates $24 in economic activity for every state dollar invested would mean it is cheaper to not cut the U W system $250 million. Does anyone remember the Kenosha casino deal in which $220 million would have been given for the arena in exchange for a casino in Kenosha? That money would have cured a lot of ills if un-intimidated Walker hadn't surrendered to the Iowa conservatives!

Using Walker's "it's cheaper" argument he would have to accept the federal Medicaid money as by continuing to refuse it this actually costs Wisconsin substantially more money to cover fewer people! If he can use the "it's cheaper" argument to actually spend more money he certainly must use it to save money which totals about$360 million that would be available for schools and the U W .

And the high- speed rail line as well, as that decision has cost Wisconsinites tens of millions more than simply taking the money and getting the MKE-MAD-MSP line built

That slogan is more than a little-passive aggressive in it's dismissive "meh" tone as well as in its allusion to the somewhat misogynistic song "It's Cheaper to Keep Her". Who comes up with this stuff?
