'More Guns, Faster' Summit on tap in Milwaukee today
Our 'arm-everyone' Milwaukee County Sheriff, David Clarke, Jr., and the globe-trotting Governor Scott Walker who can't get his own state budget passed though the GOP controls both legislative chambers become brothers-in-arms today at a High Noon bill signing in Clarke's office.
That's where Walker will sign an NRA priority bill bill to end the state's 48-hour handgun possession cooling off period. The bill will also allow off-duty and retired police officers to carry concealed weapons into schools.
Because what cities and the country as a whole really need right now is more guns out there, faster.

Once again Walker signs a bill out of sight of the public. Is there at least one bill that he signed in which anyone opposed was allowed to be present or are all his bill signings by invitation only away from the public eye?
I'd love to see a gun toting American get to openly carry their AR-15 at a Walker rally or on the sidewalk in front of Walker's house. Any patriots willing to do that?
Hard to believe that Walker could be more tone deaf. Sheesh.
The polls say 70-80% of Americans want background checks on guns.
What's great about Walker is that he's living in a fairyland where all voters are to the hard right.
Fortunately, that's far from the case.
Walker must be really ashamed of the bills he signs since he can never sign them in public. Their argument to get rid of the 48 hour waiting period to buy a gun is the worst. Don't they know why it was created to begin with, or is it the usual excuse that they just don't care how many people's lives are destroyed by a quick gun purchase. Having old retired armed officers roaming the halls of schools is asking for trouble. Who's to say they won't be overpowered by some young person, have their gun taken away, and then go on to kill as many as possible. If there is a will, there is a way, and having the gun right there loaded and ready to go is a benefit to anyone looking to do harm.
