High-End Golf Course Could Degrade State Park Touted By State
I've noted the contradiction between environmentally-destructive plans for a pristine Wisconsin area and Wisconsin state tourism promotion of that area as if no environmental destruction is on the table - - and yet there they go again:
While the skids are being greased for a high-end golf course abutting pristine Kohler-Andrae State Park along the Lake Michigan shoreline - - a plan that includes paving, deforesting, fertilizing and otherwise converting a privately-owned nature preserve into a golf course, club house, parking lot and more - - and also giving the golf course developer some acreage inside the park itself for a building and other purposes- - the state tourism department is touting Kohler Andrea State Park, just as it is right now and has been forever, as one of a handful of "Hidden Gems."
The description and accompanying photo of the site and view of Lake Michigan are breathtaking, so why spoil it?
