About Ryan's 24-hr. Comey-firing silence

Don't be too quick to ascribe it to mere cowardice, though that is a large part of it.

Remember it takes time through meetings and conference calls to check in with major donors and gauge the impact of Trump's behavior - - on tax cuts for wealthy.

Which is the only reason Ryan and Republicans are dispatched to Congress.

And in Ryan's case, access to the levers of power to cut federal entitlements to the less fortunate that Ryan has said rather weirdly that he's been dreaming of implement since his college days.

Since Trump has promised the largest tax cut in galaxy history and Ryan wants to deliver it to the donor class, and to cement his legacy in GOP lore, he's decided to stand with Trump, come what may.

Just as Ryan got over his momentary discomfort with Trump after the Access Hollywood tape broke and polls showed that Trump's base was saying, 'no big deal,' and Ryan let it be known that he'd voted for Trump.

Ryan did not break with Trump after his Russian connections were first disclosed.

And won't even though Trump just admitted that the entire White House line about Comey's firing being related to the Clinton email uproar was b.s. - - that it was all about trying the squash the FBI's Russian investigation which Ryan, through supporting the disgraced House Intel chair Devin Nunes, is also obstructing.

No threat to the Republic posed by Trump will cost him Ryan's support because the rich who inserted Ryan into the House Speaker's chair are to served.

He will see that their taxes are slashed so they do not have to be troubled with contributing to the general social order through a public sector they and Trump and Ryan have the means to bypass.

With a compliant Ryan at Trump's beck and call, it's party and profit and power before principle.

On, Ryan.

On, Wisconsin.
