Another WI DNR message disconnect

[Updated] I've noted often on this blog - - here, or here, or here - - that the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in the Scott Walker era posts so-called "clean air tips" or other messages that are laughably at odds with either common sense or Walker priorities that are clearly anti-environmental.

Like the time that the DNR invited everyone to enjoy a hike in woods...
At the same time assault rifle-toting private guards were photographed and videotaped

at the Bad River area iron mine test boring sites...

Clean Air Tip of the Week

FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 7, 2013:

"THERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS IN OUR GREAT STATE. HIKING, BIKING, CAMPING, OR ENJOYING A BEAUTIFUL LAKE WHILE BREATHING IN SOME FRESH AIR ARE ALL GREAT WAYS TO ENJOY WISCONSIN. GO TO DNR.WI.GOV, SEARCH 'RECREATION'."

Well, your DNR is at it again, this time with an email touting for winter enjoyment an area in NW Wisconsin rich with the very foliage, waters and views about an hour's drive away from the Mellen area...

Nourse Sugarbush SNA

Nourse Sugarbush State Natural Area
that would be dynamited, filled, deforested and excavated by a projected 35 years of world-scale destructive open-pit iron mining. The region near Lake Superior is rich with sugar maples, a staple on the threatened Bad River reservation, so why would the DNR tout this area and resource without knowing or caring that people will make the connection with a nearby pristine area that could be destroyed under Walker's special-interest financed mining law?

You can see the area of the potential mine from the Nourse sugarbush they are both elevations over 1300 feet with Chequamegon Bay in between.

But milwaukee journal sentinel endorsed this guy THREE TIMES -- specifically to create a divisive racist environment for their business model (which is not to be an ad-supported information source -- its pure propaganda!).

You can blame dnr and whomever else you want -- we have all of walker's agenda (and more bombs coming your way) because of the stale and toxic media environment that echos pro-walker talking points across the state.

dnr is just doing what milwaukee journal sentinel, journal communications broadcasting, lee enterprises, gannet, and clear channel have promoted the governor to do.
