Irony in GOP effort limiting probes into campaigns, politics
Wisconsin State Senator Tom Tiffany, (R-Hazelhurst), is co-author of the bill to restrict John Doe investigations into political and campaign wrong-doing.
The bill comes in the wake of politically-embarrassing John Doe prosecutorial/investigative probes into GOP Gov. Scott Walker's 2010 and 2012 gubernatorial campaigns, and related matters.
For the record - - Tiffany himself is a subject of a complaint alleging campaign violations - - unrelated to the Doe probes - - in recent Oneida County races.
That complaint is in the hands of GOP Attorney General Brad Schimel.
Tiffany was lead author of the bill that set in motion the now-abandoned plan to dig an open-pit iron ore time in NW Wisconsin.
