Obama, Past US Presidents Will Attend Mandela Funeral, So...

When will the Obama derangement caucus - - see some of its twisted hate, here - - complain that the trip will cost bazillions of dollars?

As it did when far-right talkers and a Tea Party Congresswoman falsely claimed Obama was spending $200 million a day on a state visit to India.

And the right blasted the cost of an Obama tour of several African nations earlier this year, though the costs are boosted by security obligations.

Oh, there it is: the right-wing noise machine's criticism has begun - - though not yet about the cost - - complete with an unflattering photo of the President and First Lady.

Can someone please explain why the flag of the United States of America is flying at half staff for a former great man of a foreign nation?

Perfectly legal and with precedent. Reports The Christian Science Monotir:

"President George W. Bush ordered flags to fly at half-staff at the passing of Pope John Paul II in 2005, President Bill Clinton did so for Yitzhak Rabin (1995) and King Hussein of Jordan (1999), and President Ronald Reagan honored Anwar Sadat in 1981, but the historical precedent most often cited is President Lyndon Johnson’s bestowal of the honor in recognition of the passing of Winston Churchill in 1965."

"a former great man"? Does aging diminish greatness?

I'd like to write Anonymous Dec 8, 6:01 PM's obit: it would NOT read "a 'former' snarky blog commentator". I'll bet you keep snarking right to your bitter, lonely end.

"former" - as in he's dead.
