High Court Fail: WI Justices Lobbied Legislature For Promotions

Somehow it is legal for Wisconsin Supreme Court justices to lobby legislators  - - even on behalf of bills and a constitutional amendment that could help one or more of the justices attain the position of Chief Justice now reserved for the most senior member.

The impetus for the legislative changes is conservative impatience with current liberal Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson's long tenure as Chief Justice because she is the most senior jurist.
