Water Politics In Waukesha Fought Out On Facebook

You have to be on Facebook to read it, but the group "Say No to Milwaukee Water in Waukesha" is, shall we say, active and lively - - especially expressed in the comments.

When I first looked at the page a few weeks ago, it had 450 "fans," or registrants.

Today - - 1,600.

People on all sides of the issue are registered and are battling it out, and there is both good information and misinformation about water and the region, but the page offers some sense of how heated is the possible diversion of Lake Michigan water, through Milwaukee, in Waukesha.

It's a good example of politics and debate working their way into and through new media.
