Roads To The Zoo Congest, Close; Light Rail Would Have Gotten You There

Imagine the ironies - - the so-called Zoo Interchange finally re-opened Friday after a decrepit bridge was replaced, but then ramps serving the actual Milwaukee County Zoo nearby had to be closed - - yep, leading to more congestion - - because too many people drove to there on a sunny, Good Friday.

Just for the record: the Zoo was on the proposed Milwaukee County light rail system - - killed a dozen years ago by anti-Milwaukee sentiment in Waukesha County and right-wing, rating-seeking talk radio hosts.

Urban rail offers motorists and non-drivers an option.

When you don't have rail, congestion becomes more frequent if everyone wants to drive to a popular destination.
