Assembly Mining Bill Hearing Begins At 10 A.M.

Get yourself to the Tommy Thompson Youth Center, State Fair Park off 84th St. at I-94, Milwaukee/West Allis. I'm predicting a crowd.

Plenty of items on this blog the previous 48 hours about the bill.  Even in the last 48 minutes (here and here).

And, yes, the hearing should have been held in Northern Wisconsin.

Yes, it's disgusting that the Senate scheduled its companion hearing also for this morning - - in Madison - - so people could not attend both, and thus a divided constituency would cause attendance at each to fall.

Yes, its wrong that they began naming things after Tommy Thompson while he was still active in politics and governmental affairs. A Youth Center? That never made sense to me.

The state also named a office building on University Ave. after Tommy, and a state park near Crivitz, too.
