Major League Baseball Should Avoid Arizona

Until Arizona repeals its idiotic "papers, please" law, Major League Baseball, given its close ties to Mexico and the rest of Latin America, should move as many spring training games as possible to California, New Mexico or Florida.

some of AZ's MLB team owners are big donors to GOP/tea party groups.

Whats wrong with enforcing the law?

Re: Anonymous
Exactly, enforcing a law should not be illegal.

@anon 12:31: being in the U.S. without documents is not a crime. it's a civil status violation, not a criminal violation. Also, it is the federal gov't - not states or local gov'ts - that, under the U.S. Constitution, has the authority to enforce immigration law. So Arizona, which claims to be "enforcing" immigration law, is in fact violating the Constitution in its purported efforts to do so.

Jim, this is coming from a Washington Redskins fan?

Then maybe Arizona should sue the federal government for crimunal misconduct for not enforcing its immigration laws.
