Information About GTAC Mine Delivered To Spanish Reporter

The massive GTAC open pit iron ore mine planned by company president Bill Williams in Northern Wisconsin is just upstream from an exceptional world-class resource - - wild rice estuaries that have sustained the Bad River (Ojibwe) Band for centuries.

So it's fitting that a request for information about the mine was sent by a Spanish journalist thousands of miles away to UW Geoscience professor Joe Skulan.

It was revealed last week that GTAC mining president Williams is among a group of officials caught up in a Spanish legal inquiry over mining pollution there.

Here is a link to the material Skulan sent back and then posted for public consumption through the Wisconsin Citizens Media Coop. It's a documented primer on the mine, and I'd recommend reading it in full.

Thank you James,
You continue to provide links to appropriate information concerning impending decisions relative to the Penokee Range and the Waukasha Liake Michigan water diversion. Joseph Skulan's letter was geologically detailed and thorough. I particularly liked his definition of lobbyist for translation into Spanish.

James,

Thank you for continuing to provide appropriate information on the proposed Penokee mine and the Waukesha diversion of Lake Michigan water. Joseph Skulan's article was geologically thorough and ecologically informative. Linguistically, I particularly enjoyed Joseph's definition of a lobbyist to a Spanish speaking person.
