The proposed mine is already negatively affecting land values in the surrounding area:

Now is probably not the time to consider buying a vacation cabin in Iron or Ashland county. People do not travel to northern Wisconsin so they can breath in fine particle air pollution, perhaps laced with asbestos. They can suck in all the pollution they want at home in Milwaukee or Chicago.
