Peeved Republicans Want To Again Tailor State Government To Their Needs

They don't like the non-partisan Governmental Accountability Board - - run by six non-partisan, retired judges - - so scrap it.

The same way they already this year have scrapped for their partisan interests Wisconsin's previous, long-standing laws governing voting, registration, identification, and the primary election schedules, and fair/logical/legal redrawn voting districts.

And want to tinker with the Constitutional provision guaranteeing the recall process.

They also want to make it a rough felony and big fine for signing a recall petition more than once.

Well, get ready to open special prisons and debtor courts for forgetful seniors.

I remember someone a few months ago during a discussion of a potential Scott Walker recall asking, "what makes you so sure he'd leave if he lost."

I pooh-poohed that remark, but in all seriousness, now I'm not so sure.

I think Republicans in this state feel entitled now to govern, to ram through all of Walker's agenda, and who's to say that if he lost, he wouldn't simply remain through a variety of legal challenges and more purely-power-driven tactics?
