WI Assembly Speaker Vos Believes Legislating Is Wrong, 'Artificial'
Consider this weird dismissal of the essence of the job by Robin Vos, WI GOP Assemblyman from Rochester - - and also the powerful Speaker of the body - - as he discussed why the Legislature would not be raising the minimum wage in Wisconsin from its poverty-enforcing $7.25/hourly rate:
“I’m not a big supporter of artificially increasing the minimum wage. I think the marketplace is a much better way to go,” Vos said.Speaker Vos might want to consider stepping aside for someone who sees value in human activity on behalf of other humans.

Let's watch Seattle and it's new socialist mayor. If raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour results in less crime, increased property values, more job creation, and a better public education system for them, other cities will do it too.
vos, walker, and fitzgerald are lying when they say the results of their imposed austerity is a "market".
They are killing the market & demand for products and services.
This means the market has no way to fix the problems that austerity has created.

That's always the solution from the reactionaries. "Let's not move too fast. Let's watch. Let's keep things as they are for a while yet."
There is already plenty of data showing that increasing the minimum wage is an economic multiplier. One of the huge drags on the economy right now is scarce demand; increasing the minimum wage is a simple and effective way to pump that up...and quickly.
Yet another place where the liberals and DFHs have been right for decades.
Know what else is artificial, Robbin'? Giving taxpayer handouts to voucher schools as they admit students who already go to that school. Know what else is artificial? Forcing local school districts to bust their teachers' unions when they and their constituents don't want to.
Know what's real? Our exploding budget deficit, caused in no small part due to Robbin following the ALEC agenda of throwing tax dollars to campaign contributors, cutting taxes on the rich, and cutting wages and take-home pay.
Well we wouldn't want anything to cut into Vos' popcorn profits would we. And for the record, Seattle doesn't have a Socialist Mayor. Kshama Sawant is a city council member.

Local districts didn't "bust teachers' unions; many teachers' unions still exist in Wisconsin and still negotiate salaries. Those unions that decertified did so because teachers quit the union.

I remember the protests in Madison over Act 10. Wasn't that "reactionary"?
