WI citizens register for tougher water, mining, environmental measures

Wisconsin held its annual county-level Conservation Congress advisory meetings statewide on April 10th, and while the DNR is publicizing the measures as hunting and fishing related, the tally it has posted through a site, here, shows overwhelming support also for a moratorium on frac sand mining (3,226 in favor, 783 opposed, for example), repeal of the industry-written iron mining law, restrictions on the very high-capacity groundwater well pumping permissions the Legislature is poised to privatize and sanction permanently, and other strong conservation measures.

Again, head to the site, click on 2017 hearing results statewide, and scroll to item 63 where these non-hunting and fishing items are clustered.

Let's see how Walker and his 'chamber of commerce mentality' DNR respond.

More later.
