Don't bet on the Journal Sentinel's Walker wish-list
The newspaper's editorial board would like to see Walker change his mind and endorse an increased minimum wage, take federal Medicaid funding he's refused and withdraw support for mandatory ultrasound examinations for women seeking legal abortions, among other moderate-to-liberal position changes outside his "comfort zone."
These positions would be in direct opposition to defining actions which he championed enthusiastically - - a flip-floppy breakdown that would infuriate the far-right, talk radio base he needs for his own advancement and the approval of Fox & Friends to outflank Chris Christie, Jeb Bush and fellow Tea Party candidates-in-waiting, like Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, et al.
You might as well hope Walker installs a solar collector on top of the Governor's Mansion, tells the Koch brothers he's ordering a fleet of Chevy electric Volts and Toyota Prius hybrids for the state and asks President Obama to send back that Amtrak money, too.
With a side order of financing for light rail.
There's no way Walker becomes a Dwight Eisenhower or Nelson Rockefeller Republican or some kind of fusion politico now, if ever.
Walker is who he is - - a rigid ideologue and partisan tactician beholden to rigid, ideological, tactical billionaires whose corporate agendas do not include any concerns for minimum wage workers and low-income Medicaid recipients, except perhaps as readily-available burger flippers or hotel maids.
Walker is not the better someone of their dreams whom outside observers wish he were, or would become.

Egads! There IS a candidate supporting those positions and values but we at the JS (Just Sleeping) Ed Bored neglected to endorse her, Mary Burke. Or maybe Walker dazzled us with bullshit to the extent we forgot he had an opponent.
Dream o MJS -
naive or what?
Don't you remember their befuddled "wait, he killed the talgo rail project? We didn't think he'd do that" editorial at the start of his first administration?
Who are these people?
All the JS is trying to do is pull back in some of the many who refuse to subscribe to their rag. Puppy training, that is all their paper is good for.
With little man Vos doing the dirty work for Walker by using his new found power to steam roll everything and everybody Wisconsin is in for a rough ride over the cliff. These power mongers now have everything they need to be the oppressors they have always secretly been. They want to stomp all over people who hold different hopes for Wisconsin's future. Their plans are not for growing Wisconsin's economy, environment or education but rather to reward their fossil fuel donors and their capitalist masters. They care not for the needs of the people only the needs and wants of those who fund them. This is going to be a fast slide into oblivion with Vos ramming through legislation and Walker claiming it wasn't on his radar as he signs it into law! That sound you hear is Wisconsin sliding towards Kansas on our way south!
Walker is who he is-nominative case because of verb is, not objective case. Sorry-love your blog but just have a grammar fixation!
Thanks. I had first written who, changed it and will do so again.
These comments are great. Yes, look for Walker and friends to come up with legislation that will garner him attention (does he ever get enough?) so he can stand out from the freak show that is sure to be the Republican Presidential primary. I am sure that he considers this win a mandate from GOD to do whatever he can to further degrade Wisconsin and enhance his political ambitions.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - the watchdog that didn't bark.
More like the watchdog that wagged its' tail and whined for approval. A bit late for the pretend growls, isn't it?
