Using compact fluorescent light bulbs is a firing offense in his domain, and the grim bigger picture there is even worse:

wow, how stupid. Wonder how he would feel about my use of LED bulbs throughout our house? Not to mention other energy savings measures as set-back thermostats, window sealing, timer switches and occupancy sensors....
On the other hand, if Mr. Beck wishes to subsidize a spendthrift lifestyle, he is free to cut me a check for the costs incurred.
