The More Successful The City, The Greater Array Of Transportation Choices

Little wonder that our most successful cities offer the widest array of transportation options.

Keep in mind that our current legislature killed regional transit authorities, and that Waukesha politicians and their talk radio spokespersons eliminated Milwaukee-based light rail, a choice popular with young users.

How does Waukesha stop MIlwaukee from building itself a light rail system??? Maybe by declining to buy it for them?? If Light Rail was so popular Milwaukee would have built it for itself and wouldn't have cared what Waukesha thought.

In general, <30 somethings don't wear watches and don't necessarily covet a car. They want to live where there is good public transportation, ie urban areas.

To Ron R. Waukesha, under the financing agreement at the time, had a veto even though the final plan had no light rail in Waukesha County. You can read up on it.

First, Milwaukee needs the jobs and urban population to sustain the use of the transportation. Building light rail without the demand is putting the cart before the horse. A person can park a five minute walk from any destination in Milwaukee. It does not have gridlock or a demand for light rail. Wait for the water technology dream to pan out.
