How To Spot A Bad Business Proposal For Wisconsin

You know a plan is really fraught with risk if the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - - Scott Walker's true Department of Commerce - - reverses itself and says the plan needs a lot more study.

Like shipping Bakken Shale crude oil across the Great Lakes in tankers.
The Department of Natural Resources has tentatively rejected multimillion-dollar plans to upgrade a dock in Superior's harbor that would be used to ship crude oil over the Great Lakes.
The project isn't dead, but in a Dec. 23 letter, the DNR asked for more clarification on the $20 million project. And, in a shift, the agency told the dock's principal owner that it now plans to conduct a detailed analysis known as an environmental assessment.

Oh see..those scientists get under your skin and even the most devout conservative becomes concerned about the environment. Give Cathy Stepp a few more years and she will be talking about public transportation and solar energy.
