Town Of Waukesha Lands Big Fish Water Consultant

Former career Department of Natural Resources staffer and Water Division administrator Bruce Baker signs on with the Town of Waukesha.

In a word: Zounds!

It its multiple water disputes with the City of Waukesha, he's an equalizer, especially since the agency says today that it is beginning to review the City's application for a Great Lakes diversion under the Great Lakes Compact.

The Town has not decided whether it wants to be included in the application.

The City included the Town - - thus adding the need for somewhere around 1 million gallons of diverted water daily to the application - - without consulting the Town which, presumably, would need to adopt conservation and public participation measures called for by the Great Lakes Compact and State of Wisconsin rules and law if the Town stays in the application, review and implementation.

The City has not met the Town's request for a seat at the diverted water supply purchasing negotiating table, either.
