Ald. Murphy Slaps DNR Over No Water Hearing In Milwaukee
Good for Ald. Murphy.
I made the same observation on July 12th, when I first posted information about the DNR's hearing plans.
A forum, news site and archive begun in February, 2007 about politics and the environment in Wisconsin. And elsewhere.
Good for Ald. Murphy.

Thanks Ald. Murphy!
Would have been nice to hold them in Waukesha, the actual applicant for the diversion. Carrol College could have hosted the hearing.
Do you think this is a politically bias intention?
Nah, Waukesha's Common Council formed it negotiating team without any elected officials representing it's citizens to "keep the politics out".
To Anony: The DNR may have felt it needed to hold these on neutral ground, but there was no need. Close is sometimes not good enough.
In the end, will it really matter?
The DNR really screwed-up the process by allowing the hearings to transpire deliberately knowing they can't possibly assess an impact without a know discharge point or the annual gallons withdraw without a defined service area.
Eight other state DNR directors are laughing in unison.
