Possible sale of Foxconn China plant raises new questions about Wisconsin facility

Better put together that Foxconn crystal ball or maybe get an appointment with the Foxconn Fortune Teller directly.

Because Foxconn is said to be considering the sale in China of the same kind of big-screen factory now in doubt in Wisconsin despite many millions of taxpayer dollars already spent here on land and highway access in Racine County - - and for which more taxpayer billions have been pledged by the GOP-led Legislature at the behest of defeated Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
 From NBC Nightly News, 7/21/19
Who knows if the sale in China of a brand new plant close to being opened is a casualty of Trump's trade war, or is an indication that Foxconn production will expand in the US for the same reason, or might just be another sign that the world market is already flooded with large, flat panel production and Wisconsin is on the hook for yesterday's pig in a poke.

After all, it has been reported that the factory floor under construction at the Wisconsin facility is not strong enough to support the latest iteration of large-screen production

And while Trump has given all sorts of assurances, he's also said failing American farmers are over the hump, there are good neo-Nazis and he's about to end childhood cancer and AIDS, so you can't put too much faith in anything he says.

And, by the way, look at who's the sprawl winner with our money and Lake Michigan water for his district.
WI GOP Assembly Speaker Robin Vos managed in a state without two spare pothole-filling nickels to rub together to steer to and through his district a quarter of a billion federal and state road-and-interchange widening dollars that will trigger sprawl beyond bulldozed Mount Pleasant farms even if Foxconn never diverts a gallon of Lake Michigan water to produce a single big screen LCD TV.

Look at it as an adjunct to the gerrymandering Vos helped create that serves his own interests - - interests his caucus wants to protect through litigation, voter suppression and power-grabbing lame-duck legislating.
More than two years of posts about Foxconn are consolidated in this archive:
[Updated continuously from June, 2017] This archive with more than 340 posts - - and even more links and references - - tracks, explains and unmasks Wisconsin's public awards of $4.5 billion in state and local funds to Taiwan-based Foxconn.
Call it a Scott Walker - - and failed campaign manuever - - production.
The archive also documents waivers of what had been routine judicial and environmental reviews for a promised now- cancelled perhaps back-on-again-but-smaller?? Foxconn factory development that is still in line to receive a massive daily diversion of Lake Michigan water.
