State Journal headline about GOP view of gun control is not cool

Yesterday, Vos said he wouldn't even take up a gun safety measure aimed at legally preventing provably-dangerous people from possessing firearms.

So what's with this current State Journal headline on an AP which gives GOP leaders waaaay too much wiggle room, perhaps even credit for open-mdidness and flexibility?
Wisconsin Republican leaders cool to gun control measures
In fact, the facts are in the story, and you don't have to be a rocket or political scientist to grasp them, because the WI GOP and leadership is anything but cool to the very gun control measures now being proposed elsewhere - - measures which they balked at just last year.
On Tuesday, Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine called for his state's Legislature to pass a so-called red flag law and universal background checks....
"I continue to be fearful of taking away anyone's constitutional rights through red flag laws," Vos said in a statement Tuesday.
Neither he nor Fitzgerald addressed universal background checks, which they've opposed in the past, or responded to questions about what other measures they may be willing to take up in response to the shootings....
In 2018, then-Gov. Scott Walker called a special session on school safety after a shooting at a Parkland, Florida, high school in which 17 students and staff were killed....
Democratic proposals, including universal background checks and a red flag law, were rejected by Republicans then.
That's more than simply being not cool with it.

That's hostility, or as Vos is fond of saying about so many things these days:

'No, #Never.'
