GOP Assembly Republicans led by gun lobby captive
How deeply is the rightist ideologue and GOP Assembly Speaker Robin Vos

in thrall to the gun lobby?
Vos will not even consider legislation that would allow law enforcement or a family member to ask a judge to consider removing a firearm from the possession of a person alleged to be dangerous:
Vos is the second Republican official who publicly announced today that they did not get former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's memo about not being the stupid party.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos signaled Monday he wouldn't agree to take up a so-called red-flag law that would allow police or family members to petition a court to take away firearms from anyone considered dangerous. "I continue to be fearful of taking away anyone’s constitutional rights through red flag gun laws," Vos, R-Rochester, said in a statement.Mind you, the judge could say "no" to the petition, but Vos doesn't even want a court to hear the evidence. That's like saying your doctor believes you have potentially-fatal lung cancer, but doesn't want to examine an x-ray.
