Dissed by GOP leaders & budget, Milwaukee to get water hearing 8/13
I don't expect Robin Vos to be there defending anti-city GOP attitudes and budget-cutting that slashed Governor Evers' initiative to remove lead from Milwaukee drinking water.
But I'm glad to see a state water task force which has been looking into rampant rural drinking water contamination - - but not yet in CAFO-laden Kewaunee County - - will finally bring a public hearing to Milwaukee Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The location: the Wisconsin Room, a second-floor hall at the UWM Student Union which has large capacity. The building is well-served by transit, something else state Republicans do not like.
Note that the hearing is scheduled to run for about three hours, while a recent session in Racine went on for more than five.
The format calls for public testimony after experts have presented facts.

Surprisingly Vos did attend the Water Quality Task Force hearing in Stevens Point. I don't know how long he stayed but Wiseye shows him being introduced and he did speak. He didn't say anything beyond platitudes. Why Stevens Point I have no idea.
