WI tightens public assistance rules. Walker safe.

Walker is junketing around the state today signing bills linking receipt of public assistance with work requirements.

These are companion measures to rules he's instituted tying food aid to drug testing that could enhance workforce participation. Ditto for health care.

Certain recipients who have received public benefits for a continuous 26 years and currently include health care, free, upgraded lakefront housing, on-call chauffeured transportation and scores of personal staffers and appointees are exempt from the new rules and laws.
