Gun control town hall? Not for Paul Ryan.

There were town halls on the gun issue across the country, but House Speaker Paul Ryan didn't stick around for one in his district.

And where was he?

Texas.

Raising millions.
The Wisconsin Republican raised almost $4 million with events in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Corpus Christi, according to one of his aides. The money went to Team Ryan, a joint fundraising committee that supports the speaker and other Republicans running for Congress.
About which Scot Ross of Madison-based One Wisconsin Now had a few observations:
Appearing in  MSNBCs AM Joy, a Wisconsin political activist ripped into Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Saturday morning for holding a private town hall that did not include his own constituents in order to avoid questions about guns from supporters of the Parkland teens.
According to host Joy Reid,  the House Speaker, “did hold a town hall, but it was closed door and not in his district and rather far away from it, in Ft. Worth, Texas."
And touring Southwest Airlines facilities, according to the taxpayer-paid House Speaker's official p.r. shop:
Here are six photos from Speaker Ryan’s time in Texas:
1.  Smooth Landing – Speaker Ryan takes a turn in the flight simulator, successfully (we’re told) flying over DC and landing at Reagan National Airport.
2.  Flight Ready – Speaker Ryan stops by the training center for new employees, where he tours the mock airline cabin.
