Walker pitches 'comeback.' Actually, reprieve needed

Talk about being off-message. Or not having one.

Why would a Governor in office who's run a one-party state for almost seven years now be talking "comeback" in his third-term pitch?
“We want everyone to share in the Wisconsin comeback,” he told his supporters. “Looking ahead we want a state where we see household income going up …
Comeback from his two terms in office? Better an escape and reprieve from:

*  The workforce pain emanating from his broken, signature pledge to create 250,000 new private-sector jobs?

*  The departure of central Wisconsin paper production, shuttered meat-packing lines in Madison, lost Harley-Davidson work in Milwaukee, heavy manufacturing shut-downs in South Milwaukee and Manitowoc, and more on his watch?

*  The loss Walker engineered from Milwaukee to Madison of family-supporting Amtrak construction work, plus his wipe out of train assembly and repair paychecks in Milwaukee's central city - - detailed post, here - -  and more job he blocked by refusing available federal funding for broadband and health care services statewide?

*The income-slashing, public-union crushing Act 10, and 'right-to-work' legislation, and additional laws reducing pay on public works projects - - so he's cut white and blue collar take-home pay across the board  - - and also has flatly refused to raise by even a penny the minimum wage in Wisconsin he's frozen at the rock-bottom, federally-mandated level of $7.25/hour?

So somewhere in his subconsciousness, truth is trying to break out.

Walker seriously has nothing to run on at this point. All he can sell is "things will be better", which indicts his lousy record. Foxconn is a political loser, and so is trickle-down. It's been a brutal campaign roll-out for Scotty.

With that in mind, I expect full-out race-baiting and negative campaigning from Walker for 2018. It's all he and the GOP's got at this point.

The come-up-with-back-loaded-excuses governor.

What with Wanker declaring his candidacy, it's time for those campaign posters to be used once again: [1] [2] [3]

How can you come back if you haven't been anywhere?
