Huge props to Milwaukee State Senator Tim Carpenter
for pushing the Walker administration and its always-troubled Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to allow - - gasp! - - its board to see the precedent-setting, budget-devouring $3+billion Foxconn contract before voting on it.
That we have to celebrate what should be a Democracy & Public Finance 101 No-Brainer move - - public officials being able to look at before signing a contract which commits vast amounts of public money, state waters and other resources held in common to a business headquartered in Taiwan - - shows how far from traditional Wisconsin values and open government Walker has dragged the state:
