Operation Freedom Sponsors Needed
June 2008

Message From County Executive Walker

Milwaukee County, together with the Military Order of the Purple Heart, will once again host Operation Freedom at the Milwaukee County Zoo on Sunday, July 6, 2008.

We need your sponsorship to honor our Wisconsin Armed Forces – active duty, Guard, Reserves, veterans and their families. Your monetary or in-kind support provides for a free day at the zoo, picnic, and patriotic program. Thousands enjoy the military vehicle displays and will get necessary information at the Supermarket of Veterans Benefits.
Please help us show our appreciation to our servicemen and women and make a donation to Operation Freedom 2008. See donation details below.

Thank you,
Scott

Milwaukee has been named "Most Patriotic" city in the nation by the Paralyzed Veterans of America, thanks in large part to the hosting of the National Veterans Wheelchair Games over the summer.

In making the award, the group cited the city's hosting of the Wheelchair Games and other events, including the Veterans Day parade, volunteer efforts at Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and an "Operation Freedom" picnic for veterans and families.

Thank you to Charlie Sykes and Jeff Wagner from Newsradio 620 WTMJ for their support of Operation Freedom.
