Between speeches from two-time Rose Bowl champions Mark Tauscher and Ron Dayne, who earlier Saturday was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, as well as a concise appearance by Gov. Scott Walker and his family - who largely were cheered when they walked onto the stage, with an undercurrent of audible discontent - the UW Marching Band provided the soundtrack, perhaps showing even more vigor than usual to compensate for wearing shorts on the chilly day.Further update, 11:30 p.m. The issue may be semantical.
"Booed off the stage" may actually mean 'booed when introduced, but no remarks were possible, or intended.'

My husband received a first hand account from an emeritus UW faculty member who was in attendance. Walker was introduced but did not make a stage appearance because he was LOUDLY booed at the Rose Bowl band concert, at pre-game rally. (Posts were made at 6:53 and 7:30 pm Madison time.)

Of course, it's not really fair or accurate to describe Scott Walker as a "dropout".
When a student leaves university in, say, the last semester of his senior year, under a hushed cloud of scandal that persistently whispers "cheating," it is generally understood that his departure is not voluntary. He could either sign the papers to go quietly, or he could be formally expelled, but either way he has no opportunity to stay and finish the year.
