Regional Planning In Chicagoland Outshines Local Efforts Here

Chicago moves towards a implementing comprehensive rewrite of its regional plan.

Around here - - our piecemeal approach to an oft-ignored (environmental corridors developed, transit derailed, but freeways expanding)while a land-use plan lurches around: a water supply element, developed in the planners' silo, sort of completed; housing, after a 35-year hiatus, plods along; economic development, off the radar, sustainability flubbed, etc. etc.

So it goes.
