Advance Look At SEWRPC Certification Report

I have read in pdf format - - hope to have a link to it to post soon - - the federal report to be released today at 3 p.m. that, as I predicted, recertifies the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to approve federal transportation projects in a seven-county region for another four years.

The federal reviewers tell SEWRPC to continue improving its outreach to minority and low-income communities (repeating the findings and directions in the 2004 recertification review), to improve its website (a flaw frequently cited on this blog) and to produce its communications in plain English.

SEWRPC's reports are written in plannerspeak, and in formats that are often incomprehensible and inaccessible.

In short, no surprises.

The report takes no position in pending civil rights complaints.
