Attention DNR, Open-Pit Mine Planners In Northern WI

What could slide at such a large undertaking and go wrong?
The avalanche near Salt Lake City last year that carried enough rock, dirt and debris to bury New York's Central Park under 66 feet of rubble was North America's largest such disaster in modern history, according to University of Utah scientists.
Noted here in June:
Since we're on the topic of open pit mine operation, safety, and planning right here in Wisconsin - - take note that there was in April the biggest landslide at a massive open pit copper mine in Utah in 36 years, and it began with movement measured in a fraction of an inch.
