Holloway Dismissal Of Walker Appointees Not Unusual
Milwaukee County Board chair Lee Holloway is telling Scott Walker's at-will appointees they all will need to resign, and are free to re-apply for their jobs, once Walker quits as County Exec to become Governor and Holloway, by law, becomes County Exec.
Before everyone gets their undies in a bundle over this, let's remember that as political appointees, Walker's people reported to him, and once he's gone, so are they.
When Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist resigned in January, 2004, his appointees went through a similar process.
I know: I got the boot from Acting Mayor Marvin Pratt after he was sworn in, as he was then free as the city's chief executive to select his own staff and departmental appointees, and I expected it. I chose not to reapply for my job. He could keep whomever he wanted. His choice.
That's the deal and you know it as a political appointee going in.
I decided to put this up after seeing some of the ignorant, error-filled or racist comments pouring on to the Journal Sentinel's story, such as:
Hollaway is black and that is why he gets away with or he cried the race card...... good luck getting rid of this loser....

Absolutely, James. Scotty will pull the same thing for appointed positions at state agencies, and I assume the Viagra addicts have no problem with that move. Besides, a lot of Walker lackeys/ appointees are taking off for Madtown- this is the spoils system that still exists, much like it did for Doyle 8 years ago.
Anyone who doesn't understand this situation is either applying different rules due to Lee Holloway's skin...or dumb enough to support Walker/ Sykes/ Belling (or both). Period.
