In Wisconsin, Walker's Mask Is Off

It's taken a while, but events in Wisconsin are finally showing the full brutish, aggressive face of Scott Walker, his administration and his messages:

* Walker's DNR sent a large armed contingent of wardens and local deputies to seize and kill Giggles the fawn at a no-kill shelter near Kenosha, then spent days trying to undo the damage

*  The State Fair "Republicans for Wisconsin" activists thought nothing of selling Scott Walker shirts

and Walker for President 2016 bumper stickers

*  Walker's office had advance word that the GTAC mining operators were bringing in heavily-armed security guards for the mining site near Ashland close to a large, public Ojibwe educational camp set up on public forest land - - and gave the armed outfit a second pass when it didn't move to fine or discipline the outfit for entering Wisconsin without the required licensing.

* Walker's administration department has unleashed the Capitol police to cite, handcuff, and arrest peaceful singing protesters and threaten mere observers with arrest, too - - on public property, mind you - - thus cementing a double-standard of law enforcement when compared to the 'come-on-in' permission to the GTAC guards with assault rifles.

*  A senior transportation department official's ugly anti-immigrant Facebook rant cost him his job - - but his firing was long overdue. Why Walker ever appointed and then promoted him to the #3, $97,0000 perch at WisDOT speaks volumes about who and what Walker wants managing the public's business.

*  And remember, Walker glibly tossed off his dismissive 'everyone's-fine-with'ultrasounds' remark and signed into law physically invasive and medically-unnecessary procedures mandated for women seeking legal abortions.

Walker has managed for a while to rule with the iron hand in the velvet glove.

He got away with bragging on the fake, pranked Koch-brother call that he considered planting provocateurs among peaceful protestors, and had a baseball bat at the ready - - for what, exactly?

And he doesn't publicly show the combative verbal bullying we've seen from Chris Christie, and doesn't project the creepiness of Florida's bullet-headed Gov. Rick Scott,  but the real Walker - - Governor Ultrasound - - the authoritarian Walker, the one whose positions and agencies and appointees operate with full-blown thuggishness - - is finally on full display.

Bambi in a body bag. Elders in handcuffs. GTAC guards with M-4's waived into the Wisconsin woods, willy-nilly.

Not a pretty sight, Bucky, but designed to keep you off balance and intimidated.

You can add his cruel spiteful rejection of 20 year-old Josh Inglett to that mix.

Don't forget jacking the healthcare premiums of BadgerCare and making us pay out of pocket (or in my case, an extra 200.00 a month out of disability) and then running his mouth saying we had a surplus in the budget. Out goveror owes me the car I had to sell to make up for lost income.

And now Alberta Darling floats a trial balloon about expanding Act 10 to include police and firefighters. Unless she's going senile (which isn't beyond the realm of possibility), she wouldn't do that on her own. So Walker may be ready to go beyond sticking it to opponents, now he'll do it to supporters?

I am sure there are more regrettable items in our continuing nightmare.

Relocating to a liberal state like Illinois is always an option.

But how many Wisconsinites know about these things? Unless one searches pretty hard for this information one would never know all the stuff Walker is doing. The local news and the pro-Walker newspapers barely mention anything you listed.

We are witnessing the onset of Walker Fatigue Syndrome. Giggles will get the last laugh.
