Rally in Milwaukee Today For Transit

As Scott Walker gets ready to launch a budget to finance more road-building and no doubt squeeze a few more bucks from local transit support, transit supporters are rallying Monday evening to make their voices heard.

Details from friends:

Transit Rally Monday, Dec. 3.  Please join us, even for a short time. Help us raise the voices of our neighbors who use the bus.
Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W. Vliet St., 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Take the bus and wear your bus transfer at the rally.

This will be one tough fight in the next State budget, a real life David vs Goliath scene.  Your story told tomorrow might be the stone that hits the target.

Thanks to people who made the Transit Rally this evening. The organizers and the speakers. I heard more hair-raising stories tonight than I've heard in any previous such rally. People are beginning to understand what will happen to their individual lives if nothing changes.

We must get to dedicated funding. The voters approved a TAX SWAP (that word SWAP is critical). It is not simply "a new sales tax" - it is that, but it's also a property TAX REDUCTION with a net benefit to all County homeowners. Several speakers made it clear that the bus comes before the Bradley Center for tapping a sales tax. In fact, the Brewer stadium has been at the tit far longer than what it takes a healthy baby to wean itself.
