Nice use of selective editting there James.

Later on in the article.

While not endorsing a particular candidate, Lubar complimented County Executive Scott Walker for advocating overhauling county government. Walker was elected county executive in 2002 and is a Republican candidate for governor.

Walker said if elected governor, he would put the issue of dissolving the county to Milwaukee County voters in a binding referendum.

James - as usual you never let the facts get in the way of your comments.

Did you actually read the linked article?

In it Lubar compliments Walker for advocating an overhaul of County government. Have you forgotten you own post criticizing Scott Walker for that?

The only person in the article criticizing Walker is - surprise, surprise - Tommy Barret's spokesperson Jeff Phlegming, the embarrassingly pathetic PR flack.

Scott Walker has been in charge of the county government for almost 8 years now. The responsibility of the current situation falls on his shoulders, regardless of what 'Kevin', 'Anon Jim' or Sheldon Lubar think. Unless you think 8 years isn't enough time for an accurate assessment. Good luck pinning anything on Obama then in the interim...

Please remember that Milwaukee County was a mess when Walker took over from the disgraced Tom Ament who had his backside booted out of office in a recall over the pension scandal.

A scandal which still wreaks havoc with the finances of the County eight years later and will for the foreseeable future.

And any and all efforts by Walker to improve the situation have been fought tooth and nail by a partisan County Board which feels it only represents the workers of Milwaukee County and not the taxpayers.

Yes, the County was a mess when Walker inherited it, but remember: he wanted the job, and has had seven years to fix things.

Plus: every year he says he is providing a no-tax-increase budget, but signs onto the increase the Board has approved, so each year he builds onto an increased budget.

The claim that he is hemmed in by the Board is a sham because each year the Board gives Walker an increase.

And Ament is Walker's crutch. Still.

But for how long? I'd say his dependency on Ament as a tired excuse and Anon Jim and others are spinning and enabling Walker.

The worst of the pension scandal was realized in 2004. That is when most of the workers that would benefit from that cashed in.

The problem with the pension fund now is a combination of the 2008 market crash and Walker's refusal to fully fund it each year that he's been the County Executioner.

Unless Anon Jim, Lubar, or anyone else can explain why Milwaukee County is exempt from the fiscal events that affected every other governmental body and business in the country. Then it is all Walker's fault.

All one has to look at it is the shining symbol of why Milwuakee County is a mess and that is the ridiculous and complete waste of taxpayers money . . . . The Fish Farm.

The Fish Farm that Walker has tried to kill off and each & everytime the County Board has over-ridden him on.

And that is just one example of cost saving measures Walker has tried to implement and has been blocked by the County Board

The fact that Milwaukee County is a mess is on the County Board - not Walker. If not for Walker the situation would be even worse.
