On a super day in the Wisconsin legislature - - the winners Tuesday were: the environment, clean water, citizen participation in politics and mining hearings, Native American treaty rights, sixteen Democratic State Senators and one Republican - - the swing vote - - Dale Schultz of Richland Center.

The losers were the working people of Northern Wisconsin and the Dems who say they support jobs.

The working people of Northern Wisconsin are losing because the mining company has not applied under the current mining rules. There is no reason they couldn't have done that while waiting to see if the Iron mining bill passed. They would have been about 1/3 of the way through the process. Because they wanted to do away with the contested case hearing, which allows citizens to challenge the conditions of the permit, and because they wanted presumptive approval, and because they didn't want to dispose of the waste in an environmentally safe manner, Northern Wisconsinites are losing out. Who has the best interest of Wisconsinites at heart: an out of state mining company or your elected representatives?

Did you perhaps not get the full memo? Or spill the kool-aid on the part that somehow would have made your post logical rather than laughable? Try linear thinking, as your leaps of faith just fell flat.
