Finger-Pointing Fitzgerald Blames Dems For His Mining Bill Failure
Sen. Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald was on WTMJ-AM radio today blaming the Democrats for killing the mining bill, saying he thought either Sen. Carpenter, Wirch or Coggs would support the bill.
Here's why the bill died: it was written in secret in the Assembly and was so at odds with clean water, Native American treaty rights and Wisconsin tradition and law that Fitzgerald lost a swing vote in his own caucus.
As I said last night, here comes the orchestrated spinning and finger-pointing, and Fitzgerald is leading the way.
Get ready for Walker to come in behind Fitzgerald: Charlie Sykes is paving the way for this rightist blueprint today, segueing from mining to an attack on Tom Barrett.

Let us wear it as a badge of honor.
James, assume you have seen this youtube of Fitz: ""...I go all the way back to the beginning of the session when corporations started building that bill in a way that ultimately didn't have much rule making room, that this has been a long time project....."
