Tightening His Grip, Scott Walker Reclassifies 37 Key State Jobs To Political Status

Of course, these were civil service, apolitical, non-partisan state agency lawyer and communications positions before Walker, The Journal Sentinel tells us, slipped their conversion to "serve-me" status in his budget-repair (sic) bill.

Kinda makes Walker's praise for the value of civil service, shallow, shall we say?

I like the way the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel found the open records context for the story - - Walker lost an open records case just two months into office, surely setting a record  - -  but news of these position switcheros has been around for nearly a month.

As Jim Hightower said last weekend in Madison, he thought Texas Gov. Perry was pretty awful ("he puts the 'goober' in gubernatorial"), but Scott Walker takes the cake.
