Joe McCarthy's ghostly return

[Updated from 1/24/18]

Seems Senator Sunspots misunderstood a joke and ran with it.

And, regrettably, there's a Wisconsin connection.

This is Ron Johnson today.
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said Tuesday that an informant has told Congress that a "secret society" was set up within the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice shortly after Donald Trump was elected president....We have to dig into it. This is not a distraction. Again, this is bias, potentially corruption, at the highest levels of the FBI.
 Remind you of anyone?

Speaking before the Ohio County Women’s Republican Club in Wheeling, West Virginia, Senator McCarthy waved before his audience a piece of paper. According to the only published newspaper account of the speech, McCarthy said that, “I have here in my hand a list of 205 [State Department employees] that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department.”
In the next few weeks, the number fluctuated wildly, with McCarthy stating at various times that there were 57, or 81, or 10 communists in the Department of State. In fact, McCarthy never produced any solid evidence that there was even one communist in the State Department.

I have immediately contacted Senator Johnson's office and informed him, on good authority, that the Illuminati, Committee of 300, and Skull and Bones Society are planning a merger at their next monthly get together. The meetings are the third Monday of the month located in an RV parked in the southwest corner of the Walmart Supercenter located at the corner of Greenfield Avenue and Moorland Road.

I grew up a few farms away from the land of the Joe McCarthy family. I grew up seeing his bust in our Outagamie County Courthouse until 2001. Ron Johnson said 2 days ago that he has made contact with an informant who told him that the "secret society" does exist... we have "an informant talking about a group holding secret meetings off-site" with emailed evidence that we better investigate. Johnson has since backed off saying, we don't know the meaning "of somebody who has talked to our committee, that there -- there is a group of individuals in the FBI that was holding secret, off-site meetings." Is Johnson like Joe McCarthy who changed his bold claims regularly? All I know is the phrase I also grew up with - "It takes one to know one."
