Walker Tells Sykes "Hot Lanes," Discretionary Tolls, Might Be OK

Walker backs away from a Robin Vos toll-road trial balloon to get more money into road-building budgets, but says he might consider optional added capacity known as "hot lanes."

That's a pretty refined parse: tolls only in hot lanes, and only if they are for lanes Walker called "added value," as opposed to slapping tolls on existing lanes.

Looking forward, that might mean I-39/90's projected new lanes from Beloit to Madison and eventually to the Dells, hitting Illinois tourists, or on I-794 if extended all the way to the state border?
