WI judge gives DNR just days to schedule a wolf hunt
The WI DNR has said a long-standing Federal court ruling requires it to carefully consult with the state's Native American tribes which hold treaty rights before wolf-hunting is reinstated in Wisconsin - details, here - but on Thursday a Jefferson County District Court judge ordered the DNR to begin a hunt this month.
And the judge said he'd review the DNR's progress in preparing the hunt on February 16 - that's in five days - which then would leave just 12 more days in the month to establish the hunt's hours, quotas and rules.
Sound like a plan, or a bloody, wildlife sacrificing farce?
