Rural, GOP-led WI counties lead state's COVID surge

[Editor's note: I am unable to delete an errant photo in the text, so I have copied out the blocked text all the way to the end of the post. Sorry about that.]

No, failed WI GOP leader Scott Fitzgerald, 'things' COVID19-related, as you'd said, are not 'going well.' Read on.

The latest New York Times' pandemic tracking data

shows GOP-led rural counties in Wisconsin are getting slammed, including several counties in Tom Tiffany's 7th Cong. District, joining on the state's Top Ten COVID19 Hotspot lists Scott Fitzgerald's home Dodge County in the 7th Cong. District which he will represent in 2021.

All or portions of Chippewa, Jackson, Juneau, Barron, Lincoln, Marathon and Forest counties - seven of the ten - are in Tiffany's district.

Both Republicanlegislators campaigned during the pandemic without wearing masks - Tiffany, here, and Fitzgerald, here

Great to speak with voters of #WI05 this morning at the West Bend farmers market!

Back to Fitzgerald's rosy accounting of the pandemic that was going well in Wisconsin.

On August 3rd - when Wisconsin's new daily positive COVID-19 case tally was 481 - Fitzgerald said Gov. Evers' masking order was unnecessary because "things were going well," and people were free to comply if they felt like it.

Fast forward to today: the COVID-19 tally was 7,416 - or more than 15 times what it was when Fitzgerald issued his 'things are going well' report.

And there are repeatedly and comparatively brutal, bloated rates of COVID-19 death and hospitalizations, too, as this Monday report carried by a Green Bay television station makes clear:

Coronavirus crisis: Wisconsin sets new records for cases, deaths and hospitalizations

I haven't heard any apologizing. I have to assume like their leader tRump they aren't responsible for any sicknesses or deaths. Irresponsibility: par for the course.
