Key Milwaukee streetcar proponents winning re-election
Incumbent Milwaukee Mayor and streetcar proponent Tom Barrett defeats, by a 70-30 margin, mayoral candidate Bob Donovan, a Milwaukee Common Council member and lead opponent of the Milwaukee streetcar.
Additional streetcar supporters and Barrett allies on the Council - - Bauman, Murphy, Kovac and others - - are winning re-election despite well-financed opposition, so the voting tonight is a win for Barrett's agenda, rail transportation and transit-oriened development in the city.
