Keep Raising The Cigarette Tax

Smokers kick the habit when the taxed price gets intolerably high.

Along with the public health benefits, the personal gains for ex-smokers make higher taxes good policy.

Smoking puts carcinogens into the air.

Next step: A total ban on public smoking.

Why not a complete prohibition on all tobaco products since a higher smoking tax hurts poor people the most? If less smoking is good, then no smoking is better.

I think a ban on public smoking makes more sense.

We might get to an outright ban on tobacco, but first the smoking ban should be instituted.

If smoking is so bad (and it is) would not be best to ban it?
Same with Soda if they are both huge public health issues (Cancer Diabetes) would it not be best to stop the poor who can not afford the health care (leaving the burden on the public)for their own good.
Or are we just looking for the taxes

I'm just encouraging what is proven to work.
